Why Shark Styles exists
Property decisions usually start with a number. An asking price. An online estimate. A figure a neighbor mentioned. The useful questions sit behind it.
Shark Styles exists to bring those questions forward. For six years we've helped buyers, homeowners and potential sellers see the evidence around a residential property, explained in language that doesn't need a real-estate dictionary.
We don't promise one perfect number. Our mission is a clearer view of the property and the evidence surrounding it.
What we help people understand
Our philosophy
“We look deeper into the property details to build a clearer view of its value.”
Standard · What we don't assume
Property decisions come with convenient shortcuts. Some are reasonable starting points. None of them is a conclusion.
Our standards show most clearly in the assumptions we deliberately avoid.

House next door
Nearby = comparable?
Not automatically.
Close doesn't automatically mean comparable.
More sq ft
More space = stronger property?
Not on its own.
Not without understanding how that space actually works.
New kitchen
Expensive renovation = equal value?
Not automatically.
What something cost and what it adds aren't the same measurement.
Asking price
Listing price = evidence of value?
It's a starting position.
A price being asked, not proof by itself.
More data
More data = better answer?
Only when it's relevant.
Volume isn't the same as understanding.
The mindset
Shark Styles questions convenient assumptions before relying on them.
We don't assume the closest sale is automatically the best comparison. A shortcut can point somewhere useful. We just check where it leads first.
03 / The team
Behind every Shark Styles evaluation is a small team of property people who genuinely enjoy a good question. Field evaluators, researchers and consultants who've spent years looking at homes, comparing them and explaining what they found.
Curious by habit. Careful by training.

At the property
They notice what a listing photo won't show: how the layout flows, which space is truly usable and what condition the systems are in.
Behind the numbers
They decide which nearby sales genuinely compare, which don't, and write down why, so nothing in your evaluation is a mystery.
What we share
The shark on our logo isn't a person. It's the habit everyone here shares: asking one more question before calling something obvious.
How we work
Every property is different, but the way we approach it stays the same.
Buying, selling, or just wondering? We start with the decision in front of you, not a generic checklist.
Property records, nearby sales, improvements, lot details and what we see at the property itself.
We sort what genuinely affects value from what only looks important, and note where uncertainty remains.
You get our view of the property, what supports it and what to keep asking. Then we answer your questions.
04 / Why Shark Styles
Plenty of places will give you a number. People choose Shark Styles because they want to understand it, and know how much weight it can carry.
Reason 01
You don't just get a figure. You see what supports it, what we adjusted for, and what we couldn't confirm.
Evaluation summary · example
3 bed · 2 bath · detached, 1962
Reason 02
No jargon walls. If a term matters, we explain it. If it doesn't, we leave it out.
Reason 03
About half our clients are buying, half are deciding whether to sell. Same honest approach either way.
Reason 04
Two houses with the same size and zip code can be very different properties. We look at what separates them.
6
years of residential property questions, answered one detail at a time.
Reason 05
No promises about future prices or offers. We tell you what the evidence supports, and where it stops.
Online estimates are a fine starting point. Here's what changes when someone actually looks at the details.
05 / What our clients say
Buyers and homeowners from across the country, on what changed once they saw the details behind the number.
“We were ready to offer over asking because the house two doors down sold high. Shark Styles pointed out that one had a finished basement and a two-car garage. Ours had neither.”
We still bought the house. We just did it at a number we could actually explain to ourselves, and we went in knowing the HVAC was on borrowed time.

“I couldn't decide whether to sell this year or wait. They walked me through what the 2019 roof and the original furnace each meant for the value. Zero pressure either way. We're replacing the furnace first and revisiting in the spring.”
“The listing said 2,400 square feet. About 300 of that was an enclosed porch with no heat. Nobody else mentioned it.”
“Honestly I expected a number and a PDF. Instead I got a call where they explained which sales they threw out and why. First time the whole process made sense to me.”
“Our kitchen remodel cost us $58k. They were straight with us that it wasn't going to add $58k. Not what we wanted to hear, but a lot better to hear it before listing than after.”
“They told me clearly what they couldn't know, like how the fence line question with the neighbor might play out. Weirdly, that made me trust everything else they said more.”
“Our online estimate jumped $30,000 in two months and we got excited. Shark Styles showed us it was mostly reacting to one big sale across the subdivision that wasn't anything like our place.”
“We were stuck between two townhouses that looked identical online. One backs onto a drainage easement and has a shared roof we'd never thought to ask about. Made the choice pretty easy.”
“Inherited my mom's house and had no idea where to start. They were patient, explained everything twice when I asked, and never made me feel dumb for not knowing the terms.”
“Baby on the way, needed more room, very tempted by a house with a 'bonus room.' Turned out it was a converted garage with no permit. Glad we asked first.”
